A wonderful glimpse into the world of animal assisted therapy. Heartwarming stories of hospital visits and homeless shelters where dogs are able to reach people in ways that no human could. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in encouraging stories and particularly to those wanting to training their dog to help others. It is inspiring to read how well mannered dogs can be and how dedicated their trainers/owners are. It is well written and easy to read. I didn't want to put it down!

Warm hearted stories about therapy dogs and their handlers. After I survived being in a coma following surgery, I knew exactly what I needed to heal from the trauma I experienced in the hospital. I knew I needed the love of a dog. Two different therapy dogs came to visit me in my hospital room. There are no words to express the comfort they gave me. This lovely book has provided not only stories, but very useful information on how to become a volunteer and what it takes for a dog to qualify becoming a therapy doggie. I want to do this too!
